In this issue of Socialist History three themed essays are presented considering the changing nature of imperialism in the period since the Second World War. Both Marilyn Young and Vasillis Fouskas examine the main features of US neo-imperialism. In the third essay Holger Nehring looks at the struggle against colonialism and its relationship with anti-nuclear protests in the 1950s and 1960s. Also featured is a study of the French village of Guingamp, which despite its tiny size, and without substantial resources, has maintained an extended presence in the higher echelons of French professional football. François Prigent shows how this remarkable success is largely explained by the left-wing political history of the village.
